On February 17th 2017, executive producer of The Celebrity Apprentice, Donald J. Trump tweeted.
“The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!”
Merriam Webster’s, definition of the word enemy is “one that is antagonistic to another; especially : one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent”.
The idea that the press is trying to injure, overthrow or confound the American press is not only FAKE NEWS, it’s dangerous and a violation of the first amendment.
.
I had more to say on this topic but I was distracted by President’s Trump’s tweet that he had just sent out while I started writing this first post.
“FAKE NEWS media knowingly doesn't tell the truth. A great danger to our country. The failing @nytimes has become a joke. Likewise @CNN. Sad!
Here Donald Trump actually makes a good point, FAKE NEWS does knowingly does not tell the truth, he’s right there. However, CNN and The New York Times are REAL NEWS. They may not have covered the record crowds for the 2017 inauguration, the Bowling Green massacre, or last weeks Sweden incident, but no news organization is as perfect as Trump’s hair.
This blog will explore Trump's contentious and sometimes rather chaotic relationship with the media. Trump's obsession with the news media is distracting from the real issues that effect Americans today, but this is mostly likely Trump's intent.
